    Calculator of sorts!

    Hi all,

I posted about this problem yesterday but didnt get it resolved, most likely due to my explanation, so I will attempt to explain it better today! This is for an assignment worth 100% of a fourth year college module, so its important I get this working. The project is due tomorrow so any help would be really appreciated, as Im at breaking point with it now...

    Ok, so the problem is...

I need to create a cloud price comparison calculator. In the attached file, look in the top left of sheet1, the 10 cells that are highlighted yellow. They all have dropdown menus, the dropdown menu contents comes from sheet2.

What is displayed in cells G12, J12, M12, P12 and S12 is the different cloud companies price for the active spec in the highlighted yellow cells. So what i need to do is, for example, be able to change the value in cell D12 to 8gb. This should reflect a price change (different result) in cells G12, J12, M12, P12 and S12.

please god, can someone help with this.

    Thanks
    Jo

What an interesting assignment. I'd love to help you out, but unfortunately, from the Forum Rules:

In this forum we cannot allow direct help with homework or assignment questions, if we tell you how to do it you will never learn how to do it! We can answer specific questions and point you in the right direction, if you really don't understand your work/assignment then don't be afraid to contact your tutor as he/she will be pleased you came forward for help rather than struggle. One other thing, your tutor(s) may also frequent this and many other forums like it, either to help the community or sourcing training aids for their pupils so be mindful of this when seeking help!
    Brendan.

    Re: Calculator of sorts!

@bb... Thanks for the reply. Im looking for pointers in the right direction. Excel i harder than I thought. I tried to explain yest in a thread but I ended up confusing myself more than anything. Drawing a line under that and attempting to start again... Fourth year is intense, so much to do.

Am I going about this in the right way? Can you see the formula used?

...This is the P.M that you don't find.
    ...loud calculator (from yest)

    Hi Fotis,

You were helping me yest with my cloud calculator problem. Im still having trouble with it and my assignment is due tomorrow. It's worth 100% for a module, Im in fourth year so it really is important that I do well on this....

If I try to better explain what I am trying to do maybe you wouldnt mind trying to help me again?

top left of sheet 1... the 10 cells highlighted in yellow, all have drop down menus. the contents of these menus are on sheet 2. the options from these menus that are selected now, return the amounts in G12, J12, M12, P12 and S12.

this is meant to be a cloud computing calculator. so I need to be able to change what is selected in the drop down menus, and for this to display different amounts in G12, J12, M12, P12 and S12. I have these amounts, Im getting them from a website.

I really have tried to make this work, but cant get my head around it. Where can i attach a file here??

    thanks
    Joanne
    Good luck.
