    A simple but challenging exercise: find the top and bottom names with duplicates

    Hi,

    The task is to find the names of the top 7 and bottom 7 ranks when there exist duplicates. I attached the file here. Can you have a look at input the formulas for the three columns (highlighted in yellow)? If there are ties, it doesn't matter as only the top 7 or bottom 7 are needed.

    Just found it on the internet. Just use the large() and small() function.

    here is how you do it.

    alter your rank formula to show only uniques

    where the ranges and cells are your numbers for ranking.

    then use small and large as you said.

    see the attached sheet (but you want to use your own ranking numbers i have just re ranked your current ones)

    oops forgot to attach

    (ps press F9 to recalc i also randomized it all so you can test it and see)
