Cool Jumping Worksheets By Double Clicking a Linked Cell

At a previous Job my boss was telling me that she had a setting switched on her (then) version of Excel which she doesn't have now.

The "setting" is regarding using a spreadsheet with multiple worksheets.

The best way to explain it is via an example.

    E.g.

There are 2 worksheets, 1 is called Cat and 1 is called Dog

The "Cat" worksheet is full of data.
The "Dog" worksheet is has a link to peices of data that are stored on the "Cat" worksheet.

My boss says that when she was using the "Dog" worksheet, she used to double click the linked Cell and it would then jump her straight to the data source i.e. on to the correct cell on the "Cat" worksheet. When she does this now she just gets the information about the link "=CatA1"

How can i set her excel to make it so that when she double clicks the cell it jumps to the correct worksheet?

    Thanks in advance
    Ben

file-options-advanced and turn off the 'allow editing directly in cells' option

if at first you don't succeed try doing it the way your wife told you to

Ive just told her this solution and demonstrated it but apparently she had the ability to "jump" to the home of the linked cell but could also still double click a normal cell to allow edition.

    Any more ideas?

    Ctrl+[ is the shortcut key-but you did specifically say a double-click ;-)
