Link paste data from excel table into word while matching destination formatting.

    Hi Guys,

    First post

I have a huge spreadsheet and a word document with similar data.

I would like to not constantly update the word document when the spreadsheet changes.

I can link indivudal cells from the spreadsheet to a cell within a table in word while matching the destination formatting(or merging as the case may be). but i would like to be able to link copy rows of data at a time. linking indivudal cells would take months of man hours. I have experimented with paste special but can not get the desired effect, it will only give me the option to keep destination formatting or will paste all the values in the same cell in the word table.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

Not sure if I have correctly grasped what you are trying to achieve, but it feels like a mail merge could accomplish what you are trying to do. Once you have set it up you can just update your source and pull the new data through into the Word document

I apoliges i didnt communicate very well first time round.

Basically i want the data in book A to be linked to the corresponding location in report B with the format beeing matched to the Report B (Calibri 11).

I can acheive this doing one cell at a time but i would like to drag and select multiple figures at the same time.

    Many thanks
