    Protected Worksheet

I am new to excel but excited. I prepared a spreedsheet with the list of employees and their assigned locations. As we are customer service company that has rotating days off, I need for our master sheet to be correctable, printable but not saveable.

    Re: Protected Worksheet

I have created a worksheet listing the names and assignment location for 70 employees. Each person has a rotating day as well as varying holidays. I need to protect the intregrity of my master spreadsheet but allow others to make realtime corrections that can be printed for "today's" use but does not modify the master spreadsheet.

    Re: Protected Worksheet

I think you will need to upload a copy of your workbook for me to understand what is required.

Have you used the locking/unlocking of cells (right click on cells, format, protection)?
have you tried using the protect sheet yet?

    Re: Protected Worksheet

I password protected the sheet while allowing certain cells to be modified. I want those cells to be changeable so users can modify them to match the days schedule. Because things can change daily I do not want the newly modified schedule to overwrite the master spreadsheet.

    Re: Protected Worksheet

hi combsr, welcome to the forum. how about making the file Read-Only? right click the Excel file in the folder & you should see Properties. you can check on "Read Only"

not sure of a way if you want a password though
