    Product comparison

    Hey all, great community.

I have put together a lot of product information for various products, and trying to get my head around how best to setup a comparison sheet.

What i want to be able do is compare using 2 drop down menus for up to 6 products.

First drop down menu would be from Manufacturer column, then that would limit the second drop down box to show only those models associated with that Manufacturer. After selecting both, it would show the Feature data for that particular model.

    sample sheet.xlsx

    Appreciate any help offered.

    Regards
    Rob

    Here's a starter for you

    http://mauriceausum.wordpress.com/20...oxes-in-excel/

Once you have built this then you will need to use a lookup (probably vlookup) to display the characteristics for the selected item. This will require you to build a db of characteristics in another sheet.

If you are unfamiliar with vlookup, then here is a short tutorial

Thanks for that alansidman, will start to look into those references.

I also came across this thread which looks promising : http://www.excelforum.com/excel-gene...menu-help.html

I was also thinking of keeping it simply to just a model number lookup from the data provided.

    Will keep plodding away.

    Thanks again.
