Unhappy How to remove the not necessary link in the excel file?

    Hi,

I have a message prompt when i open the excel file, "The workbook you open contains automatic links to information in another workbook."

would you please help to tell me how can I found the affected cells linked with this file and delete this link?

    Best regards

    Andrew

go to the Formulas tab and click Show Formulas button, then you can look for the formulas with filenames (if you know the name of the linked file, you can Find All)

if you have a ton of cells with formulas, it might be tedious

also, check the Data tab and click Connections button to see if there are any connections and remove (be sure to save first to make sure it doesn't mess up your data)

    Hi,

Many thanks for your quick respond!!

I try your method but I can't find any cell with the linked file name and I can't find the Connection button in Data tab, i am using Mac office 2011.

Please advise how can I fix this problem.

    Best Regards

    Andrew
