Pasting data into a column without overwriting certain cells?

    Hi all

I have a problem I'm hoping has a simple solution - I have a daily sheet with a column of data, about 1000 rows that is produced each day, it consists of a breakdown of several items for about 30 people or so.

I want to be able to cut this column and paste it (values only) into another sheet that collates the monthly data, BUT I have a couple of rows for each person that has a formular in and don't want to overwrite that in the main sheet.

Is there a way of pasting this data in (without having to just break it down per person) without overwriting these cells?

    thanks

If you use Paste Special rather than just Paste, then you have the option to Skip Blanks (bottom left corner of the dialogue box), which prevents empty cells from the source range overwriting values or formulae in the destination range. So, you just have to ensure that where your formulae occur on the destination sheet, there is no data in the source sheet.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks Pete, worked like a dream, knew there was something stupidly obvious I was missing!
