Dynamically change a cells contents depending on the selected cell

Can you have a cell that displays the contents of whichever cell is currently selected? I have a cell that displays a lot of information, word wrap is on, but some data goes beyond the boundaries of the cell. I'd like to have a scroll bar within that cell to scroll to see the rest of the data, but I can't figure out how to do that. So I figured maybe I can have a cell that is large and can display the contents of the currently selected cell. Any ideas?
