    Data & Sort function query

I am working with Excel 2003 in Windows 7.

When I'm using the 'Data' and 'Sort' functions I find this often reverts back to the 'Header row,' even though I've already checked the 'No header row.'

This is very annoying, especially when I only ever use 'No header row.' Can I change the default to 'No header row' to stop this happening, and if so, how?

If this subject has already come up before I apologize for not seeing it in my search for it.

    Hi,

As far as I know in excel, there is no setting that can allow you to make changes to this setting. Excel tries to guess if your data is having header (1st row, if it is text or formatted differently than others) or not and act based on what it thinks is right.

    Hi and thanks, H.

All I can say is Excel is a lowsy guesser, considering the fact I only ever use 'no header row.'

If you can make sure that first row do not contain any special formatting that other rows in the selection or keep some blanks in the first row. Excel do not recognize it as header then.
