Help! Why is this Excel's file size so large?

This excel that I've been working on has become too large and it runs Extremely slow. It's almost 30 mb and my computer isn't the best. The weird thing is, I have gotten rid of all macros, saved it as a non-macro enabled workbook; and I have deleted the majority of the data. But the file size isn't shrinking. There's no formulas. I tried deleting rows even. What else can make a file so large?

The link gave directions on how to delete extra columns or rows that might be making the project bigger, but I already tried this. What else is there to check?

If I already deleted extra rows and columns manually, will this macro really do anything to help me? I finally resorted to deleting tabs within my workbook and deleting a single tab brought the size from 30MB to about 60KB. The thing is, the tab was empty. Why would this happen? Is there a way to find out the file size of each sheet?
