Question How do you get rid of unused rows and columns?

I have a spreadsheet that only contains 1500 rows but excel acts like it is is using the full number of rows available. I have a print area defined and I have tried deleting the unwanted rows but nothing seems to work. Can anyone help?

Thanks Martin...worked like a charm. Wish I had tried this forum several hours ago!
