Combining Rows and keeping data from both rows.

I have a game where people are scored on the spreadsheet, but they can join anytime, so everyday, I get a combined list of points. The list consists of people who joined previously, and the new players. How should I combine the points?

assuming you just want to see all the values in one column and assuming the image shows Col A, B and C you can just put this formula in Col D (this is for the first row and then copy down):

This aasumes that you will only ever have a value in one of the columns. You can then Copy Col D and paste over itself as values to retain the data. Then Col B and C can be deleted.


If this isn't what you are getting at please upload a spreadsheet with expample data and an expected outcome manually typed to help explain.
