Scroll Multiple Rows/Columns at a Time

    Hello!
I wonder if Excel allows scrolling many columns or rows at a time. That's right, I have a worksheet with frozen panes by "D2" cell; then there are sets of 4 columns for each day of the month (for example "D:G", "H:K" and so on). I need when I scroll horizontally, that every first column of the set to snap at the edge of pane at once. In other words, is any elegant way that usual scrolling pace of one column/row at a time to be changed to 4 at a time?
    Thank you.

    Hi rowish

You can achieve what you want by locking columns 2 - 4 of each day, leaving the first column unlocked. The right or left cursor movement will snap to the next unlocked cell.

However, if you need to update columns 2 - 4 this will be a little cumbersome in that you will need to unprotect, update and then re-protect. The un/protect can be automated.

Let me know if you need any assistance in setting this up

    Regards
    Alastair

    Hi,
I'm back again nearly recovered after a rebel flu. Alastair, I am not sure what do you mean by locking columns. If it's about the check-box in Protection tab of Cell Properties dialog, then this is already checked and doesn't seem to make any difference even if I protect the entire worksheet. Is this a feature unavailable in Excel 2003? Also I didn't mention that on top of each set of columns there is a merged cell tagging the date which complicates things a little.
    Regards,
    Cristian

Locking cells is a 2 step process. First you have to mark the cells as as locked (or unlocked). Then you have to protect the workbook (and I cannot remember how to do it in Excel 2003)

With regards to the merged cells, unmerge, lock as required and re-merge.

Let me know if I have missed anything

    Regards
    Alastair
