I was hoping that someone could help with a problem I have; I am trying to get a spread sheet with stock demands to recognise a code so that it can be tallied as a total output.
I have attached a simplified example highlighting the issue if anyone can help I would be really appreciative.
If possible could anyone give me an excel solution and not a macro as the spread sheet needs to be audited. Thank you very much for your time.

Without seeing the work done by Alex H, I downloaded your example and my solution was an exact match for his. So, unless we both misunderstand the problem, Alex has the solution.
