    CSV date reversed and unformatable

Hi, i have a workbook in csv format in which the dates are displayed as 20130318, i want to change a bulk of data (usually around 1000 rows) to display this in a more visually appealing format; 18/03/2013 for example.

If i try to change it using the cell format option i get a series of #'s no matter which option i use.

Is there a way to reformat the dates without doing them all manually?

    Thanks for any help.

    select the column
data/text to columns click next until you see the option to set as ymd choose that
    click finish
