    Linking two columns?

    Hi everyone,

I'm not sure this is what the correct terminology would be - but I'm not sure what else to call it.

Basically, I have a massive excel sheet where I need to categorize many items according to their type. I have a legend with types of items and corresponding ratios. I believe it's possible to have a drop down menu where I am only able to select from the given types of items (from the legend) - and when I select that, the adjacent column will automatically update with the corresponding ratio (so I don't have to do it all manually).

I'm sure this is quite a simple thing to do - but I'm not sure of the correct terminology to even search for it.

Thanks for the help! This is my second time using the forum and the first time provided me with a formula that has saved HOURS of my life. Much appreciated that all of you with the know-how help the others out!
