    Converting columns into rows

I have a spreadsheet that has many columns I need them to be stacked into rows to import them into a publishing program but I don't know how to accomplish this automatically. right now all I know how to do is insert rows and drag and drop the info which is very time consuming.

I have attached a sample of the sheet. A2 through A12 is how I would like all of the data to appear. However A14 through G14 is how it looks now.

    Try this:

Select your columns. Click on cell A1. then press ctrl shift and end [ Near the number pad ]

Press Ctrl C to copy the selected cells

    Select your new sheet

Select paste special. and make sure you choose the transpose option

    Enjoy

    Max Wallace,

    Welcome to the Excel Forum.

To get the most precise answer, it is best to upload/attach a sample workbook (sensitive data scrubbed/removed/changed) that contains an example of your raw data on one worksheet, and on another worksheet your desired results.

The structure and data types of the sample workbook must exactly duplicate the real workbook. Include a clear and explicit explanation of your requirements.

To attach your workbook, scroll down and click on the Go Advanced button, then scroll down and click on the Manage Attachments button.
    Have a great day,

I tried this but it didn't give the results I needed. I attached an example showing how I would like the data and how it appears now.

    Re: Converting columns into rows

I guess there is no way to ensure that each record has the same amout of rows to it?
    record 1 has 4 rows, record 2 has 5
