HELP... Moving linked workbooks in a different pc

    Hello,

    Here is my problem...

I have created a folder in my desktop named "2013" in which there are 12 other folders after each month (january_2013, february_2013 etc) and
in each folder of them (of the 12 months) there are 3 workbooks named "morning_shift_january_2013", "afternoon_shift_january_2013" and "sums_january_2013" which sums the results of the morning and afternoon shifts, and then it goes on like "morning_shift_february_2013" etc.

There are links in the same workbooks, there are links in different workbooks in the same folder and there are links in different workbooks in different folders.

Everything works fine in my pc BUT I want these to work in a different pc (I have made all that for a collegue) !

The problems I encounter are : the links that are in the same workbook are working great BUT the links that refer to different workbooks both the same and on different folders are not working/updating! It seems logical to me because when I select a cell that has a reference to a different workbook it displays the path in MY pc (c:\users\"my_pc"\deskop\...etc...).

I need your help on how to make it work in a different pc in which it will be stored and which will of course have a different path to follow...

(at first I thought that since I would copy the whole folder "2013" it would automatically change the destination path within the sub_folders but it didn't)

Furthermore, I have also applied a simple macro in all sheets, in all workbooks, in all folders and this is not working but this in not to hard to re-apply in the new pc... unless of course there is way to save me all this trouble.

Thank you beforehand for your help and responces...

    Hi apostolosntanis

Not really my area of expertise, but as no one has picked up in this - here goes.

Having copied all the files into their correct places on the new pc, I would go to each in turn and "edit links". I think that his will enable you to point the link to the correct file.

If you would like to post an example of a sheet containing the macro that does not work (explaining what it should do if this is not obvious!) I will gladly have a look and see if I can suggest something. Make sure the example does not contain sensitive data.

    Regards
    Alastair
