    Shortcuts to different sort orders?

    I'm using Excel 2003. I have a worksheet that I need to sort about 4 different ways, each sort defined across multiple columns. It's a PITA to redefine the sort any time I want to change the sort order. Is there some way to create shortcuts to different sort orders for an area of data within a worksheet? By shortcut, I mean something like hotkeys, buttons, or maybe some kind of drop-down menu. Ideally, without having to highlight the range every single time.

    Hi,

    Yes it's possible...attached is an example...you can change the code the suit your table you would like to sort, or post a sample and I can help out...the code can be tied to a button like in this case or a drop down if required...

    Thanks for that.

    I just discovered that I can use macros (not sure I've ever use one before), which, when I enter the macro editor appears to create Sub routines similar to what you show. They can be tied to hotkeys. Here's one:

    Is the keyboard shortcut actually read from that comment, or stored elsewhere?

    hi,

    Deleting the comment has no effect but yes, the the shortcut key is stored in the code module, but it’s hidden from sight. you can check this by exporting the Code Module

    ------>right-click the Module -------->Export File

    open in Notepad
