    1. Do you have this formatted as a table? (I think this one is your problem) Formatting things inside a table (formatted as a table) can be tricky and I don't usually use this feature.

    2. Do you have formatting that applies to an entire row/column? This would prevent rows/columns from being shifted off the page because Excel thinks they are important to you because you formatted them.

    Hi zumbalj.

    Thanks for your answer.

    1. I tried to change it from table to a range, but it, as i see it, didn't gave me the opportunity to copy paste the groups, is there any paste special I could use to get this working, have tried the different opportunities out, but not sure iam doing it right?

    2. No i dont use any formatting in this tab.

    Mike.

    Mike,

I am not sure I understand what exactly you tried. Can you be more specific about the way you formatted the sheet and what operations you tried to paste in the groups? Can you upload the spreadsheet and reference specific cells (with mock data entered if there is a potential confidentiality issue)?

I'm not sure what problem you're seeing here. I am able to insert and group both rows and columns with no problem, although I can see you're using a different version of Excel than I am, so I'm not sure whether that may be affecting your issue.

Re: How to insert a group between group

If you mean that you want to insert columns or rows between existing groups and create a separate group for the inserted columns and rows it can be a bit tricky.

Ungroup the columns or rows that you want to insert a group beside. Insert the columns that you require. (you will need one column that isn't going to be included in a group in order for the groups to be separated or all columns or rows will become part of a larger group. So, insert 1 column more than you require.)

Select the columns or rows that you inserted except for the inserted column or row that is next to the ungrouped cells that you previously ungrouped. Group the selection. Select the columns or rows that were previously grouped and group them.
