    Printing issue

    Hi!

I hope someone can help me with a “printing related” issue.

To start with: In my company I have several different jobs/projects where I perform different kind of services. These services are performed with different intervals like every week, every month and so on.
I wanted to make a big sheet where every job has its own page. So when I pres “print” I get one page for each job/project. See attachment 1 where I have made a quick draft. If I only want to print out job 1 and 3 I simply sort out job 2 and I get one page with job 1 and one page with job 2.
But the problem is when I want to see only a certain kind of activities. This is showed in attachment 2 where I have filtered out some activities. When I press “print” some of job 2 I suddenly on the first page.

I am not an experienced excel user (as you probably can see from my draft) so I have two questions.

    1. Does anyone have a solution to my problem as explained above?
    2. Does anyone have a whole different solution to my case, but with the same filtering possibilities?

    Hello etunges
The print will print the active sheet unless you specific a specific area to be printed. So, it will start from the top and print to the bottom.

So you can select the print area manually or set up a macro that will set this value, that contains something like follows.

Then you can print just what you want.

    Re: Printing issue

    Thank you for the reply!

Maybe I explained the problem a little bit poor.
My use of the sheet is to quickly be able to sort the sheet after eg. and activity and then press print and still get just the one job on each page. If I have to select printing area every time this is to time consuming.
So I was hoping that it’s possible to “lock” the printing area. Eg. that row 1-46 will always print on page 1 row 47-92 will always print on page 2 and so on.
Maybe this was what you had in mind when talking about micros?! I haven’t used micros before…..

Thank you for the quick reply!

I couldn’t find where I should put this code…Could you explain where I can find it in an other way.
I use excel for Mac 2011 if this has anything to say.

    Best regards

    Hello
Glad that John got you sorted, so you could add those buttons. If you find that you have too many sheets to print (and end up with too many buttons to add), you could associate each page with a number and define each number with the specific range. Shout if you get to that stage.

    Regards

Thank you for being so helpful! But I must admit that I didn´t understand these buttons although I think I solved the problem myself just with som inspiration from Tamas....I just inserted page breaks and thats just what i needed.
