Copying a cell across multiple columns without pasting in hidden columns

    Hello,

I'm building a budget sheet that has the months across the top of the sheet. In each column managers will input their projected budget. In each column beside the projected month's column I've input a formula that will be calculate out the prior year's actual values. These columns will be hidden throughout the budget process.

The problem I'm having is when a manager inputs a number in the first column, ie January and copies that number all the way through December, this figure is pasted into the hidden columns as well.

Is there a way to paste in only visible columns and not hidden columns?

    Thanks.

Are you trying to say that Feb to December will have the same number as of what is in the month of January?
then you can create a link
say the value of january is in Cell A1 in cell C1 type = sign then click Cell A1 so it will look like
    =A1
you can use the fill handle to drag down.
    then in cell E1,G1 etc.
I think people forget the word "THANK YOU!!!!" Do you still know it???

There is a little star ( ADD REPUTATION ) below those person who helped you. Click it to say your "PRIVATE APPRECIATION TO THEIR EFFORT ON THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS "

    Regards,

As of right now I do not believe it to be possible to copy just in visible cells across the entire sheet.
Your best bet would be to either have them copy the data in one by one, but we both know how once you pass it off they will find another way to mess up the information.

or I would also suggest just moving the calculated fields to the end columns of the worksheet and hiding them there. If you reference things properly with the column headers you shouldn't have a problem managing the data.

    Thanks all.

Unfortunately, your answers seem to be what I'm finding as well.
