Scroll bar form control won't stop

I've had the exact same problem, and spent quite a bit of time (in vain!) trying to figure it out. Other than calculation mode, some have said that this is only a problem in Page Break Preview view and switching back to normal will fix it. This did not work for me either.

The problem could be that there is extensive recalculation to do every increment of the scroll bar, but that doesn't mean there's a way to get the desired effect. You can't necessarily downsize the calculations, and deleting the scrollbar is no help.

I eventually gave it up and just worked with what I had, using the mouse off to make the scrolling stop.
