I have a smallish file (about 4.5MB) that has a bunch of PivotTables and regular tables. A few of them connect to a SQL database, others connect to a local Excel workbook (about 32MB in size). When I try refreshing all of the data at once, Excel's memory usage starts skyrocketing and when it hits around 1.7GB, I start getting the error "Cannot complete task with available resources." This seems to be a common problem. I'm using Excel 2010 on Windows XP *ugh*.
Any idea as to why it's doing this? I did similar work with Excel 2010 on a Windows 7 machine at my last office and never encountered this issue.
