How to remove a deleted named range completely

I'm sorry if this post is overlapping, because I could not find the older relevant posts.
In my excel file had an range named as "QD48" and was deleted long ago. Now I want to use the name "QD48" for another range in the same workbook, and Excel produces an error that "the name QD48 has already existed".
How can I treat this error? In fact, I deleted it in Name manager and its associate range as well.

    Select Ctrl+ F3

There you can edit, delete or create a new range.

@ramananhrm: the OP already says that the name has been deleted from the Name Manager, so that wouldn't help in this case

QD48 cannot be used as a name for a range as it is a valid cell reference.

    Help File

"Cell references disallowed Names cannot be the same as a cell reference, such as Z$100 or R1C1.

Hahaha nice observation. Can't believe I missed that one!

I guess that will teach me to pay more attention to the OP's version of Excel in future!

We all make mistakes and I have to admit that I have made that one myself a few times.
