Question Cell formatting for #s ? "2000s" turns into "0.0231481481481481" when copy and pasted

Hi , I can't figure out the proper cell formatting for using numbers to have them remain just as I typed them when I copy and paste tem into a new cell. For example , if I copy and paste "2000s" into a cell , it turns into "0.0231481481481481" ! I have a lot of numbers used as descriptive terms in this spreadsheet. For example : 60s, 70s, 80s, 1990s etc.. and they are all turning into decimals no matter how I format the cells. Any help would be great

2000s is getting interpreted as 2000 seconds and hence getting converted to 0.0231481481481481 days i.e. 2000/(24*60*60)

Ensure that you input cells as text and they will retain the 2000s format
    Life's a spreadsheet, Excel!
