Making column titles appear in assigned row

    Hello -

Please see the attached document for an example. You will notice columns B-H are titled separately. Cell A2 lists all of the columns titles with an "X" value, as does A3 and A4. There was no formula that I applied, I just marked it off manually. What formula can I use to make excel list all of the appropriate column titles, or colors, in A5 and A6?

Hope this is clear. As always thank you for your help.

Omg, that worked! That is amazing. Thank you so much Martin. You are always such a great resource on this site.

How did you become so well versed with Excel? Would you recommend to take any courses?

Two more quick questions.. when applying that formula, the column titles appear but they are in commas.. so you'll get "Red,Grey
Blue,Orange,Yellow" for instance. How can I add a space in between those commas?

And in my example, the columns only go to column H. What if I had data that goes up to column EN? Can I just do auto-fill that formula across all columns?

The commas I think I can figure out.. but its just applying that formula across a wide range of columns that's my question. Did you have to manually type in B2 to B1, C2 to C1, D2 to D1, etc etc?

yes you have to type that all in if you want it all in one cell so it gets unreasonable for a large number of cells, you should always post a realistic version as sometimes solutions are not scaleable
