In the Data Validation -> custom option how can i put a condition like in cell c3 such a way that b3= "c" then c3 should be "GPA". when b3="e" then c3 can be either "GPA" or "NGPA".

Maybe you could make do with the Data Validation, as set out in the attached sample Workbook.

You state thatSince an IF THEN formula can only handle unique parameters, I believe, you cannot use the above requirement in any formula, or with custom Data Validation. That is why I have used a List with Data Validation....when b3="e" then c3 can be either "GPA" or "NGPA".
