Borders around all cells in a range

    Hi there,

I tried to Google this but to my surprise I could not find an answer that did not involve VBA!

What I'm trying to do is put top&bottom borders on ALL cells in a range, not just the margins of the selected area. See spreadsheet below for explanation if required.
Surely there must be a way to do this through Excel menu, tools and whatever.

Alternatively, this could be solved if I knew how to select all rows in a spreadsheet (not Select All), because if I select rows one by one it will obviously apply the borders correctly. Is there a way to select multiple rows then?

    Thanks!

Just select that range, then right-click and choose Format Cells, then choose the Border tab, and then you can click on the small icons to set Top, Middle and Bottom borders only. You can also choose different thicknesses of the lines.

    Hope this helps.

You should use your macro recorder to find out how to do things like this.

Click on developer and then on record macro.

    select an area,

    right click,

    select format cell

    select your borders

Click on developer and then on stop recorder.

That's exactly what I was looking for, them "Middle" borders!

Thanks guys, really wanted to avoid using Macros for this kind of shite!

Appreciate that, mehmetcik, was looking for something simpler though. Cheers!
