    Question Filtering words

    Hi all,

I have a sheet with many rows containing text, not just single words. Now I want to filter rows that contain some specific keywords. If I go to Home - Conditional Formatting - New Rule - Format only cells that contain I can enter a keyword one by one but it s not practical since there are many words. When I give a cell range I get an error:
"this type of reference cannot be used in a conditional formatting formula"

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Filtering words

Countif Formula in CF will do the trick

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to make it clear what is needed. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are demonstrated, mock them up manually if needed. Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to open the upload window.

    Thanks for your quick respond.

Sorry. I don't understand what you mean.

I don't want to count words.I want to filter out rows that contain specific words.

    Can you be more specific?

    Re: Filtering words

    Hi
Just thought Can't you use the filter Function build in Excel by Highlighting the Column titles and adding Filter Function ( Excel 2007-2010 HOME> Editing > sort and filter > Filter Not sure on version before) this way it will filter rows for you containing whatever you type in the search box
may not be your solution but a idea
