add data into a calandar sheet

Hello, only new to this forum so appologies if this is in the wrong place

I have a workbook that I have created with data in one sheet and I have created another sheet with a calendar in it. now comes the difficulty well for me anyway
n Worksheet 1 (Named "info 1") this contains the following:
Column A is date in dd/mmm/yyyy format
Column C is Day of the week in DDD format
Column D is the name of the person
Column E is the Address of the person
Column F is the time in 12hr format (9:00am)
Column H is the attendance format (Weekly, Fortnight, Monthly..........Etc)

I would like this information to auto fill the calendar sheet:

Sheet name is "Cal Jan 2014"
in A3 to C3 is Monday
in D3 to F3 is Tuesday
In G3 to I3 is Wednesday
In J3 to L3 is Thursday
In M3 to O3 is Friday

    Then

In A10 to C10 is Monday
    and So on

Now what I would like is the info from "sheet 1" where the date is equal to the date in the calendar take the info from "sheet 1" and place it into the appropriate cell in the calendar.

    Hmmmmmmmmm hope this makes sense?

    Is this at all possible?

    Thank you
    Chris

Re: add data into a calandar sheet

    Hi Chris

Welcome to the forum (and indeed 2014 !)

    Yes it is do-able.

    A few questions:
1 - How do you want to handle the situation where there are 2 instances on a given day in "info 1" (or is that not going to happen?)
2 - Do you want all 6 headings from "info 1" to appear in the calendar (if so, how are you going to fit it in to A3 -c3 ) (you see why we ask for samples to be posted!)
3 - Are you expecting the information to be repeated Weekly, Fortnight, Monthly..........Etc (in which case a stop date will be required in "info 1") (Never tried this before - could be quite challenging )

Let me know what you want and I will see what can be done.

    Regards
    Alastair

Re: add data into a calandar sheet

    Hi Chris

    A further question

How do you wish to handle months? For example 31 Mar 2014 is a Monday. Do you want 1 April 2014 to be on the same sheet or does it need to be on a new sheet (called, unsurprisingly "Apr 2014"), or will 31 March 2014 be on the April sheet?

    Regards
    Alastair

    Thanks Alastair,
There will be multipule entries in a given day but different people and addresses
In some instances depending on weekly, fortnightly and monthly it needs then to populate accordingly
Not sure how to copy and paste sheet but here goes
Top Part is the calendar second set of data is how t is in the Info1

Re: add data into a calandar sheet

I have done lots of calendars like this. Post an example file with a small amount of data in it, and indicate manually how you want the data to appear in the calendar sheet.

    Hi Chris

It is not good practice to copy whole replies - it just wastes space!

The items that you have copied do not really help as I cannot envisage exactly what you are looking for.

It will probably be best if you load up some sample sheets (as suggested by Pete) and then go with his expertise!

    Alastair

Re: add data into a calandar sheet

Sorry not certain if you do or don't reply with other message but now I know, thanks for the information.
Below is a pic of the data and calendar. the first section is manual data entry and the second is the Calendar with the data entered.
Each month is separate from each other and information can change and be added.

    Hope this helps

    Chris,

a picture is not much use - attach an Excel workbook instead.
