Windows 8 constant reconfiguring Excel & Word

I have installed my Office Pro 2007 on a new windows 8 laptop. Now when I open Excel or Word and every time I open these programs, the program reconfigures them. I am also getting a message box of stdole32. Anyone understand why this happening? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling from the CD.

Re: Windows 8 constant reconfiguring Excel & Word

I have experienced that with previous versions of Windows and each time it was a bad install of Office that didn't properly register itself with the USER ACCOUNT. The solution that worked for me was to completely uninstall Office. Delete all the folders relating to Office in the Program Files (X86) and Program Files folders then I ran Ccleaner (free edition) from http://www.piriform.com choosing the Registry tab. I then rebooted and re-installed Office and it worked properly.

I hope that this works for you.
