Consolidating three worksheets and Identifying matching and non matching data

    Using Excel 2010.
A customer list was sent to three executives with the request to classify individual customers. The classifiactions were one of three classes. i now need to consolidate these three files into one and identify where two or more people have classified the data and see if their classifications match or not. How may i best do this?
    Thank you,
    Sonny.

It would be easier to advise if we could see an example of how your workbook is laid out.

Remove sensitive data (replace with anonymous example data, just enough to be useful) and attach a workbook.
let Source = #table({"Question","Thread", "User"},{{"Answered","Mark Solved", "Add Reputation"}}) in Source

If I give you Power Query (Get & Transform Data) code, and you don't know what to do with it, then CLICK HERE

Re: Consolidating three worksheets and Identifying matching and non matching data

Hi, Sorry, i shoudl have done this before. I have uploaded a test data file in the exact configuration that the original files are in. There are three files like this. The only column where there are changes in each file is the column "Customer Category". There are about 1,500 rows in each spereadsheet.
    thank you,
    Sonny

Re: Consolidating three worksheets and Identifying matching and non matching data

You can import the other two files into the "Master" that you have by using the "Get External Data". Click on From Other Sources and select From Microsoft Query then select Excel and choose one of the files and select the data that you want. If you don't see fields from which to choose, select Options and select all the options. You should then see a listing of the worksheets in the workbook selected. Select the worksheet with the data and select all the fields that you want data from...follow the prompts.

    Repeat for the other file(s).

The imported data will be in table form. If you want to match your example file (no table) convert the tables to ranges and move the data under the correct columns if you so desire.

I have consolidated the data in one worksheet. Now I just need to identify the data where more than one person has classified a customer and highlight them. i am trying to do it without writring heaps of formulae.

Re: Consolidating three worksheets and Identifying matching and non matching data

If you are using Get External Data, one of the steps is to filter the records received. If you can figure out the filter required, you shouldn't have to do much manually or programmatically.
