I need Text Box inside a Shape help

Im not sure if this is even possible but I wanted to ask just in case. I want to be able to create a rectangle shape and inside that shape, create a text box. Then I want to be able to paste information inside this text box and when I paste it, I want the information to automatically be copied and pasted into a cell (like A1) on another sheet. I will be clearing the data within the text box a bunch of times during the day and pasting new information. Is this possible? Thank You

Why do you need a text box inside a shape when the shape itself may have text characters?

And why do you need to use a shape/text box at all? Why not just enter data directly in a cell and have the sheet change event trigger the copy of that cell to another cell on another sheet.

Your current approach seems unnecessarily complicated.

Can you explain how to do what you are saying. I think the idea I had is the same as yours. I just didn't explain it will. On sheet1, I want to create it to look a little more like a web page, with pictures and shapes and text boxes. But when I paste inside the text boxes, I want it to act like a mirror in a way and automactically put that text into a certain cell on Sheet2. Sheet2 will run all my macros and formulas and stuff in it. I just want sheet1 to look a little better. Thanks for your help.

Right-click on any shape, and from the pop-up menu select Edit text.

However, even with a text box, I do not know of a way that text entered into a text box will automatically be shown in a cell. Once you associate it with a cell (see below) you no longer have the option to Edit Text.

You can do it the other way around--associate the shape with a cell, and whatever is in the cell shows in the shape. Select the shape, then type "=" and then select the cell you want to associate (even if it's on another sheet).

Re: I need Text Box inside a Shape help

I just looked at your other thread and understand better what you are trying to do. It's worth mentioning that the term "textbox" means two different things in Excel. My explanation above refers to the first definition below.

    1. One type of textbox is a shape. It's a rectangle of arbitrary size that can contain text. It's inserted by Insert, Shapes. It is a box that the user can edit the text by the menu selection I gave above.
    2. The other textbox is a control. It is a box that the user can type text directly into. It can also be linked to a cell so that if either one is updated, the other one is also updated. It can also be manipulated with VBA code.

However, it would really help to understand what you mean by "more like a web page." I have to agree with Richard that you may get a more workable solution if you rethink the overall approach.
