    Checkbook help

I want to enter an x in a column and have the check amount put into another column...

    A1 check amount
    B2 x
    C3 Value of A1

If I go through the check register and mark, for instance, tax deductible items with an x the amount of the check will appear in the cell, in this case C3.

I am looking for a formula for C3.

Hope I have given enough information and actually explained what I am looking for....

Thanks in advance for your responses.

    C3

The LOWER converts whatever is in B2 to lower case, as an X would be seen as different to x, this way the case is irrelevant
