1st of month date in one cell, to display the month period in another cell.

I am attempting to create a chore/reward chart for my son. I can create it in 2007 or 2010 Office, PC. The easier the better.

I am creating 12 sheets, 1 for each month. In cell M10, for each sheet I will place the first date of each month respectively.

For June, I will place in cell M10 the following format, the date: June 01, 2016.

In the cell below it (M11), I would like for it to display the beginning date and last date for that particular month automatically based on whatever is in M10 (which will always be the 1st date of each month.)

So for June since it happens to have 30 days I would like for it to automatically populate the following based off of cell M10: 06/01 - 06/30. Since each month has different amounts of days in it, the formula in M11 of course would need to be self aware of the particular amount of days in that specific month.

I did a google search and tried searching the forum based on the word "date" but didn't see any requests like this one.

Thanks in advance for any possible assistance,
    David

Incidentally why are you planning on one sheet for each month?
99 times out of 100 our advice here, particularly if you want to do any analysis and/or summarisation, is to keep all your data on a single sheet.

I want to be able to print each month off and hang it on the refrigerator so he can check mark the chores off as he does them when and on what days they are due.

This allows Mom and I to see if he has completed his chores and earned his following weeks allotted time for his console, tv time etc.

I am the 1 out of 100 that isn't looking for it to actually stay on the computer when it is complete but printed.

By the way your formula worked perfectly. Thank you so very much.

    Blimey!

The only point I was attempting to make is that with all the data in one database you can easily extract any particular month to a template month sheet merely by entering the month you need to see in a key cell. So instead of 12 sheets just two sheets, the Data sheet and the particular month.

In fact there may be no need for a data sheet at all, it depends on what information you're trying to show. It sounds like this is essentially a blank sheet of paper with just some dates in it which can all be driven by entering a month in a key cell.

Ohh I got ya now, which makes much more sense. Your point has certainly saved me some time.
