    Conditional Formating

    Hi All,

I have used conditional formating to a few cells as if its =0 turn green otherwise it stays red as the cell colour, but some cells do not change.

D22,G22,J22,M22,P22,Z22 the conditional formating doesn't work but S22,V22 and D45,G45,J45,M45,P45,Z45,S45,V45 and the cells 46 works.

    Why does it not work?

    Re: Conditional Formating

Will you please attach a sample Excel workbook?

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment, so to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.

Increase the number of decimal places in those cells that are not playing ball and you will see that they are not exactly 0. You will need to adjust your CF rule to account for what looks like a rounding error in columns where there are any values to be summed that are >0.

Try changing the rule to less than 0.01.

    Re: Conditional Formating

Thanks for your reply. As its a sum I would like it to turn red if its less than 0 or greater than 0, so will just less than 0.01 work?

    Thanks

No - you will probably need to tell it to turn it green if it's between 0.01 and -0.01.

    Re: Conditional Formating

How exactly have you set up the rule? Maybe attach a new version of the file?

    Try 0.001 and -0.001 instead.
