I have a bunch of cells with positive numerical values and want to change them to negative. How would you do that?
Type the value -1 into a blank cell somewhere, then select that cell and click on Copy.
Then move your cursor and select the cells that you want to change, and with those cells highlighted right-click and then choose Paste Special | Multiply | OK and then press the Esc key.

EDIT: you can delete the cell containing -1 when you are finished.

hey, for some strange reason sometime, like every other, I'm not sure the pattern if any, it doesn't change the value to negative but it changes the "-1" to positive one. Any idea what's going on? It's not a simple process as the values are scattered around in different cells. Thanks
You've probably forgotten to move the cursor after clicking on Copy - if you apply the Paste Special | Multiply to the same cell it will change -1 to +1.
You can use the CTRL key to select individual cells if they are not contiguous.
