dropdown list & arrow disappear from cells

Hi all. seeking help on missing drop-down arrow & list in cell.
PC crashed, new hard drive installed & updated, since then my current file for:- Data validation doesn't show "list" in allow criteria..but only "any value", on all my dropdown cells however when you right click mouse on cell, view "pick from drop down list- the dropdown list is there.
am requiring assistance.
