Question SUMIFS Pull from Different Column, Sheet

    Hello all,

I am an Excel noob so if this is a very simple answer I apologize/I'm ok with it. I tried uploading the sample Excel file that I created but it kept failing so I have attached a snip instead, if that works? I want to be able to have the formulas in cells C:K, M, and N pull the highlighted WBS # from Column A instead or, or in addition to matching and pulling the data from the Ledger sheet.

Right now I have to manually enter the WBS # in each formula line, and I'd like to be able to just reference Column A.

Does anyone know if that's possible and, if so, what I need to add/change to my formula? Any other formula that would work better?

    Thank you!

Re: SUMIFS Pull from Different Column, Sheet

instead of putting the code into the actual formula - just reference the cell A3, put A3 in its place

what issues did you have uploading - is the file too big

did you follow the yellow banner

Note: Images are difficult to see , and also requires that I input all the data myself, which means I may make an error, which is very time consuming, and from my point of view less likely to get a response, if a complicated spreadsheet.

A sample sheet would help here, and possibly will enable a quicker and more accurate solution for you.

The forum does allow for spreadsheets to be uploaded direct to the forum -

Please see the Yellow Banner at the top of the page explaining how to attach a sample spreadsheet

A good sample workbook has just 10-20 rows of representative data that has been desensitised. It also has expected results mocked up, relevant cells highlighted and a few explanatory notes.

Here are the instructions, found at the top of the page again
Post a small Excel sheet (not a picture) showing realistic & representative sample data WITHOUT confidential information (10-20 rows, not thousands...) and some manually calculated results. For a new thread (1st post), scroll to Manage Attachments, otherwise scroll down to GO ADVANCED, click, and then scroll down to MANAGE ATTACHMENTS and click again. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.

    Hello Wayne,

Thanks - my file size was too big, it worked this time!

    cool,
I change the code to use A2 and copied down
the formula is in column O so you can see the results and compare

    =-SUM(SUMIFS(Ledger!$J:$J,Ledger!$I:$I,A3,Ledger!$C:$C,{"41000000","41002000","43002000"}))
