Can I safely enter information on two worksheets simultaneously w.

    Can I safely enter information on two worksheets simultaneously w.

    I am setting up a database that lists informationa about different contract
    employees. The first worksheet will be a summary and then there will be a
    worksheet for each employee. The goal is to have a running count of the work
    each has done. If I have a summary line on each worksheet, could it also
    appear on the first worksheet? Then I could keep running totals on everyone
    without having to enter the info twice. Good idea?

    Assuming that an employee's summary is to appear in A4 on sheet 1. In A4, sheet 1, type an equals sign =. Now click on sheet 2's tab, and click on C9, sheet 2 (which has what you want to appear on sheet 1). Press enter. Anything that is put in C9, sheet 2, will also appear in A4, sheet 1.

    Also, if sheet 1's tab is clicked on (made active) and any other sheet tab in the workbook, say sheet 4, is also clicked on and made active, anything typed on sheet 1 will also appear on sheet 4. Handy if identical data is wanted on 2 or more sheets. Click on any tab to break the link.

    It is. Copy the cells of the summary line in one of the worksheets, switch
    to your summary worksheet and Paste Special> Paste Link into the row you want
    the info for that employee to appear. Repeat for each of the other employees.
