Click File > Page Setup > Header/Footer tab > Custom Footer

Place the cursor within the desired section (Left - Centre - Right)
and then put*:: &[Page] of &[Pages]
    Click OK > OK

*You can also click the 2 buttons next to the "A" button in the Footer
dialog to insert the "&[Page]" and the "&[Pages]" parts. The centre part: "
    of " is keyed-in manually

Slight tweak to the above, to sync with your subject line ..:
put instead: Page &[Page] of &[Pages]
(an additional "Page " part placed in front)

Then, there's always the option to use one of the default XL "already
constructed" footers, one of which will give you:

    <File> <PageSetUp> <Header / Footer> tab,

    And under "Footer",
Expand the footer box to display default footers.

Just click on the one of your choice to have it *automatically* inserted in
    your footer.
