Smile Change cell colour based on formula result

    Hi,
I'm new to this forum as also pretty new to excel too !
I am required to change the colour of a particular cell based on the result of a formula.
It appears there are complex codes written in VBA to achieve this. Any thing simpler for mere mortals like me?
I have tried conditional formatting but have found that it has a very limited range of application and does not support formula results directly.
    Help ! Help !

    Good afternoon fixednfinal

You probably could use the conditional formatting function and it does indeed support formula results directly, but admittedly it's not the easiest function to work with but it is worth spending time getting to grips with it. You could use some pretty sophisticated formulae within it to get required results, but you've been a bit vague in your post about your requirements.

I've attached a very simple spreadsheet that demonstrates how the conditional formatting can be used with a formula result.
