    Getting Started Pane

Is there anyway to keep the Task pane open all the time, so I have access to
the information on it? I know after I start using a workbook and the pane
goes away that I can press ctrl+f1 to get it back, but I would like it to
stay on all the time. Is there some way to do this?

    Any help appreciated.

    TIA

    Jim Rech posted this...

If you know how to use the registry editor (Start->Run "Regedit") add the
    Dword item "DoNotDismissFileNewTaskPane" under
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Common\General and assign
    it the value 1.

    11.0 is xl2003. You'd use 10.0 for xl2002.
