    Vlookup - not returning #N/A

    I'm testing to see if a value exists in a range, and if so return a value from that range. Vlookup looks perfect, but if the value doesn't exist in the range it returns #N/A which messes up the other functions.

    So, is there a way to have vlookup return something other than #N/A when not finding the value, or is there a better way to do what I need done?

    Bonus easy question, how do you write a rule for a real number?

    eg: =IF(A1=<REALNUMBER>,"Number","Not A Number")

    What is <REALNUMBER> in Excel?

    In other words, if A1 = any real number output "Number", if A1 is letters, words or characters that are not numbers, output "Not A Number"

    Smile Avoid #NA in Vlookup

    To avoid #NA While doing VLOOKUP

    =IF( ISNA(VLOOKUP()),"",VLOOKUP())

    If the lookup value is #NA then the resultis empty string

    Else Lookup value will come
