I just changed jobs and now run the toolroom at a boat builders. The only computerisation there, is a daily spreadsheet showing who got issued tools.
What i would like to do is come up with an inventory combined with the daily sheet ( obviously the original one will need reworking ). I have very little experience with excel and have managed to get my self completly lost

The daily sheet is set up as follows:-
date/part#/description/quantity out/shop/employee/quantity lost/returned.
this manages to keeps track of returned items but nothing else
I would like to have a daily that would also link to an inventory list ( over 1000 items) so that when an item is took out it is tracked on the daily and if it is a consumable deleted from the inventory or returned to inventory if non consumable. Any ideas or links that would help would be greatly appreciated
