Excel file insertion into MS Word

Have a number of files to insert into a document with exsting text so that the spreadsheet, not the icon appears. Inserting the file as an object does this, however formatting the overall dimensions reduces the cells beyond the resoluton of the font. I write to inquire if there is a way to display a 'corner' of the spreadsheet in their normal dimensions and have it 'toggle' to full size when needed. If a few connected cells could be seen by the reader that would address my need. Guidance sought

Much thanks for the timely reply. Actually, I have already inserted the file as an object which was mentioned in my correspondence. Each of the solutions in your link have drawbacks and so now I would ask if there is a way to insert the file and connect to it via hyperlink. The reader would click on the the hyperlink text and the spreadsheet would open for viewing. Closing the spreadsheet would bring the user back to the hyperlink where they would continue reading. Ideally, the actual file would be hidden from the user. Please advise
