    protecting a cell and series of cells

    how do I protect or locked a single cell or multiple cells.

    First select the entire sheet, format cell, and unselect the "Locked" Option.

    The select the range of cells which you want to protect then format cell and select the "Locked" Option.
    The right click the sheet and protect it by giving a password..
