Maintaining constant value when copying formulas?

I have worksheets setup for individual employees to calculate data with regards to various job assignments. I am trying to determine the cost per employee given their wage. I set up a separate worksheet with their individual wage. I can create the formula e.g.(employeexc600*wageb3) with no problem. I would like to copy and paste this formula but the value for wageb3 changes as I paste within cells. I only want the c600 to change with each paste and the b3 from a separate worksheet to remain the same. Hope this makes sense.

It's not immediately clear what those formulae refer to. Are employeexc600 and wageb3 the names of ranges, or do they contain the cell references c600 and b3.

From the way you describe it, the normal way of handling this is to use a VLOOKUP() function. i.e. create a table of your employees and their wage rates, and then use this range as the object in the VLOOKUP() function.
